Senior Backend Engineer - Supply Tech (all genders)

Within ourSupply Tech Unit,the Backend Applications team is responsible for the implementation of efficient and seamless backend system solutions to handle our retail business across all our ABOUT YOU shops in all countries we operate in. The ABOUT YOU Backend Application integrates external partners (merchants) and is our quality gate for their data, covering diverse data transformation and enrichment processes.

With a great sense for business and deep knowledge of the retail Backend Systems the ABOUT YOU Backend Applications team builds solutions and delivers features that serve the business needs and enable our ambitious growth plans.

• You can take a business problem, translate it into a technical problem, and work with the team to ensure it is properly designed, planned, and delivered
• Build and provide internal & external RESTful APIs that ensure a fast & frictionless updating of our backend products
• Embrace modern agile software development methodologies and extreme programming practices such as TDD and pair programming
• Constantly challenge and expand your knowledge of reliable software architecture, programming and new technologies
• Plenty of room for your ideas and creations, flat hierarchies, and very short decision paths.

• Hands-on & recent experience with Laravel
• Hands-on experience developing synchronous APIs
• Experience working with message queue system (SQS, RabbitMQ or equivalent)
• Experience working with AWS, TF, MySQL, Redis or equivalent
• Expected to take ownership of what you build for E2E, including automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response
• Self-motivated, responsible, passionate and eager to learn
• Can perform complex technical tasks independently with minimal guidance
• But a multiplier of team efforts, ensuring that the results of team work are as expected and are technically sound
