ABOUT the program

Gain your project and product management experience at ABOUT YOU and discover what it means to be part of the driving force in a unicorn start-up. Throughout the 2 year traineeship you will experience working on a variety of IT projects and join 4 different tech teams at ABOUT YOU. This will result in a state of the art foundation of your tech career as you will undergo a specific training program including hands-on experience in Project- and Product Management. Through close cooperation with tech teams such as our Tech Project Management Team, Shop Application Teams, Business Intelligence Team and ABOUT YOU CLOUD Teams you will quickly build up a large network in the (tech) world of ABOUT YOU. Get a 360° insight into Hamburg’s first unicorn. This will provide the foundation to become potentially a project manager or product manager (m/f/d) at ABOUT YOU. In advance: the top 5-10% high performers have the option to shorten the 2-year traineeship.

ABOUT Key Learnings

  • Learn the key elements of project management processes from scratch e.g. project scoping, steering, risk management and milestone management

  • Gain knowledge how to build successful minimal viable products e.g. client facing frontends, designing UI/UX, A/B testing and data flows in backend systems
  • Work closely together with other experienced product managers to learn about e.g. software planning, development processes, quality assurance practices, release management and the software tooling needed to build and maintain a cloud e-commerce platform
  • Understand the main product e-commerce KPIs, main product revenue drivers and customer funnels
  • Join as well our Tech Project Management team and help with structuring and optimizing processes for the ABOUT YOU tech teams to establish suitable, fast, lean and agile processes
  • Gain experience in state of the art software tooling e.g. cloud infrastructure, web tracking, project management, development and data management
  • Work in an agile and international teams

ABOUT Requirements

  • Top graduate in Business Informatics or similar degree program

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant hands-on experience as an intern/working student in project, product management or business related jobs
  • Very good analytical skills with a hands on mentality and creative way of thinking
  • Solution-oriented with direct and clear communication skills
  • Open for new ideas, other opinions and eager to learn
  • Organized and structured way of working
  • Basic knowledge in agile methodologies would be a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Fluent English skills (spoken & written) and German is a plus
