(Senior) Project Manager Sustainability (m/f/d)

Our Corporate Sustainability team develops and implements ABOUT YOU’s sustainability strategy. Our tasks include working with legal requirements, analyzing ESG frameworks, developing roadmaps and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners. Specifically, we work on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption of our buildings, implementing human rights due diligence and annual ESG reporting, among other things. We also structure all sustainability topics within the organization and track our progress using agreed KPIs and measures. Our success factors here are working with data and managing internal stakeholders and external partners. Smooth coordination is fundamental to achieving progress.

As (Senior) Project Manager Sustainability (m/f/d), you will work closely on the core of our sustainability strategy. You will be an expert in the translation of legal requirements and ESG frameworks, key data collection and preparation, reporting and audits. You will work with various internal stakeholders such as our sustainability leads in the business units, the Legal, Finance and Strategy teams as well as external partners such as auditors and service providers to further develop our sustainability strategy. You will use efficient analyses to show how we can achieve as much as possible with as few resources as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and further developing our ESG reporting obligations related to the CSRD and the EU Taxonomy, specifically collecting ESG information at least annually, clarifying details of requirements, structuring topics extensively and improving current processes

  • Program management of our reporting obligations in a PMO role, including preparing and leading review rounds, coordinating timelines and following up on them across the company
  • Leading annual external non-financial audits on the company side
  • Supporting our environmental KPI collection, improving current processes, implementing strategic initiatives such as setting new targets and advancing our impact reduction through prioritized measures
  • Advancing our ESG data collection processes and enhancing visibility of ESG indicators
  • Further developing our sustainability strategy by reliably translating new requirements to our business and implementing action plans with internal and external stakeholders to reduce impacts and risks and capitalize on opportunities

Requirements

  • Completed university degree and more than two years of professional experience in the field of sustainability

  • Knowledge of ESG reporting, the reduction of corporate greenhouse gas emissions, or handling sustainability data is an advantage
  • Proven competence in project or multi-project management with a focus on achieving goals on time
  • Experience in a consultancy or a dynamic working environment is an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of company-wide ESG reporting (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy), relevant control systems, and support of non-financial audits
  • Collection and preparation of quantitative and qualitative sustainability indicators for audited reports
  • Expertise in developing strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Confident application of the GHG Protocol and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to reduce environmental impacts
  • Experience with tools such as Workiva is an advantage
  • Strong interest in working with data (e.g. Excel, databases, dashboards) to generate relevant insights and support transformation processes
  • High level of personal responsibility, ability to prioritize, and experience in leading employees within an ESG matrix organization
  • Very good command of English required
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage
